Fomo Calc
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
Fomo Calc has no account and never asks for your name, your email or anything about your real finances. The amounts you enter stay on your device.
- No account or sign-in
- No ads
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- Anonymous usage analytics, with none of your content
- No in-app purchases
What stays on your device
The following is stored only on your device. The app never uploads it, and deleting the app deletes it.
- Saved scenarios: the tickers, amounts and dates you chose to save.
- Recent searches: the last few ticker symbols you looked up.
- Cached price history, so the app works offline and makes fewer network requests.
- Your settings, such as the typeface, and a few counts the app uses to decide when to ask for a review.
If you back up your device with iCloud or a computer, the backup includes this data. Apple handles backups under its own privacy policy. Fomo Calc doesn't use iCloud sync.
Analytics
To learn which features are used and to catch errors, Fomo Calc sends anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), a privacy-focused analytics service. A signal is an event name plus a few coarse values:
- Ticker symbols
- The symbols you calculate, compare or save, so we know which assets to support best.
- Ranges, not amounts
- A range for the amount you entered (such as "500–999"), for the time horizon and for the result, plus the length of a search, never its text.
- Feature events
- First launch; calculation started, completed or failed; scenario saved; share, rate or tell-a-friend tapped; typeface changed; search used.
- Errors
- A short error code when a calculation fails, for example when a ticker returned no data.
- Standard technical details
- App version, iOS version, device model, system language and region, display and accessibility settings such as dark mode or larger text, and session counts.
- An anonymous identifier
- A random ID the app creates the first time you open it. It is not your Apple ID, your device ID or your advertising identifier. The analytics package hashes it before sending, and TelemetryDeck hashes it again on arrival, so it cannot be linked to you. Deleting the app discards it.
The exact amounts you enter are never sent. The app turns them into ranges before anything leaves your device.
The signals are not used to track you across other apps or websites, and no advertising profile is built, which is why the app doesn't show Apple's tracking prompt. TelemetryDeck explains how it handles data in its privacy policy.
Market data
To price a scenario, the app downloads historical prices and dividends straight from Coinbase Exchange (crypto), Yahoo Finance or Stooq. Those requests contain only the ticker symbol and the date range. When you search for a ticker, the text you type is sent to Yahoo Finance to find matching symbols. No request contains the amount you entered or your analytics identifier. Like any website, these providers can see your device's IP address, and their own privacy policies apply.
Purchases
Fomo Calc is free and has no in-app purchases.
Third parties
Fomo Calc has no advertising and no social sign-in. Apart from the TelemetryDeck analytics package, it includes no third-party code. It uses Apple's own frameworks, which run on your device.
Children
Fomo Calc is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
